"This was a truly fantastic way to tour the Olive oil region of Puglia! Marco and Nicholas were so easy to work with and Nick was a tremendous guide. He knows so much about the area in the history and took us to back roads that led to an ancient Olive Groves, and beautiful old Masserias. If you were contemplating this, Bike Tour, look no ffurther. It was truly the highlight of our trip!"

About Puglia Olive Oil Tastings
Puglia — the heel of Italy — produces more olive oil than any other region in the country, pressed from ancient gnarled trees on the Salento plain. An olive-oil tour from Lecce takes you to a working frantoio (mill) or a masseria estate to see the harvest and pressing and to taste first-press extra-virgin oil at the source, often with local bread, wine, and Salento produce.
What sets Puglia apart is authenticity and value: this is where the oil comes from, not a tasting room dressed up for visitors. The masseria angle — a fortified farmhouse estate surrounded by olive groves — makes it a genuine countryside experience, and prices run lower than Tuscany.

What Travelers Say
"We had a fantastic day on our e-bikes with our very friendly, attentive and informative guide Nick. He was superb. We spent the morning meandering round the single track roads through olive plantations stopping off in a number of local towns and villages. It was also great to be able to cycle through the narrow streets. The visit to a local Olive Oil Mill was a great experience. The bikes are top quality and for someone like me who is a very inexperienced cyclist, I was able to cycle the 35 km with total ease. If you are thinking of doing an e-bike tour, then give these guys a go, you will not be disappointed."

"We really enjoyed our bike tour with Nick and Marco. Nick is such a lovely warm friendly guide who made everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. The e-bikes were very comfortable and good quality. We cycled along old small rural roads meeting locals as we went and got to see small farms and old Torres (small stones towers) A highlight was meeting an elderly gentleman who gave us a guided tour of an underground cave which housed an olive oil mill and told the history of this fascinating time and how people would live underground for 7 months a year to produce olive oil that was then exported around the world. The cycle was the best thing we did our our visit to Lecce and I would highly recommend it to anyone and no you don't need to have any cycling experience as Nick will show you how to manage the-bike.Ciao"
"We spontaneously booked this e-bike tour in Lecce and didn't know quite what to expect. It was our favorite day of our 7 in Puglia thanks to Nicholas and Marco, The bikes were great and very easy to ride. The countryside much more beautiful than advertised and great to see from a bike. Nicholas gave us so much history of Puglua and the region as we rode along and laughed a ton. It was fun to stop at an ancient sheperd's shelter, reminded me of something David may have slept in. It gelt like we were stepping back in time. We rode through the countryside for almost 4 hours, which the e-bike made easy (lots of turbo mode). The olive mill stop was not what we expected as no olive oil to taste, but totally answered the question of why this region had so much wealth in ancient times (you will have to take the tour to find out). It was fascinating and head some original Greek poetry from the olive mill tender that he composed for his wife. The church in Galentina is amazing!"
