Cooking Class · Genoa
Genoa is the home of pesto alla Genovese — basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Ligurian olive oil ground in a marble mortar. The city’s standout class teaches that mortar-and-pestle technique alongside fresh Ligurian pasta like trofie or trenette, often on a rooftop with a glass of local white and a view over the old port.
Cooking-class supply in Genoa is intentionally small — a couple of standout, intimate experiences rather than a crowded market — so the quality runs high and spots fill fast. For a deeper class scene, Florence and Bologna are an easy train away; we link them below.

The location was beautiful and created a really special atmosphere. We had a great time, learned a lot, and ate amazing food – definitely a must-do in Genoa!"

"We had an absolutely amazing cooking class in Genova with Chef Alberto! From the very beginning, the experience was perfect. We were welcomed with a delicious espresso, fresh orange juice, and some of the best focaccia we’ve ever had. Alberto is an incredible chef and teacher, extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and professional. He explained everything so clearly, from the history and traditions behind pasta-making to the little details that make all the difference. You can really tell how much he loves sharing his craft. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and Alberto made us feel right at home. We prepared pesto and pasta completely from scratch, learned so much, and then enjoyed our meal together with some excellent wine. It was such a special and authentic experience definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Genova."
